About Security Guard X86 Positions – Department of Home Affairs Role:
The Department of Home Affairs is hiring 86 Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors, and facilities at its offices across South Africa. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, managing access control, and responding to security incidents within the Department’s premises.

Key Responsibilities:
- Patrolling premises and monitoring the entry and exit of visitors and employees.
- Managing access control, checking identification, and screening for security risks.
- Responding to security alarms and investigating disturbances.
- Preventing unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and government assets.
- Monitoring surveillance equipment and reporting any suspicious activities.
- Assisting in emergency situations, including fire drills and evacuations.
- Working with law enforcement if necessary to report criminal activities.

Minimum Requirements for Security Guard X86 Positions :
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 10 or higher (Grade 12 and ABET qualifications also accepted).
- Skills:
- Good observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for long hours.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) certification.
- Previous security experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
