Handyman Job Overview
As a Handyman, you will be responsible for general repairs, maintenance inspections, and minor renovations across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining safe and functional workspaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance across various trades
- Diagnose faults in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems
- Conduct routine safety and maintenance inspections
- Install, assemble, and repair fixtures and equipment
- Respond to service requests and complete work orders promptly
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment logs
- Collaborate with supervisors, team members, and external contractors
- Ensure all work adheres to health and safety standards
- Support preventive maintenance and emergency response tasks
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus)
- 2–3 years of proven experience in general maintenance roles
- Solid knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual labor
- Good communication and time management skills
