The purpose of this role is to support injured claimants by facilitating their rehabilitation and overseeing related healthcare needs. As a RAF Senior Officer Case Management, you will be a vital part of the Field Case Management team in KwaZulu-Natal.

Key Functions of the RAF Senior Officer Case Management Role

Field Case Management Operations

  • Activate undertaking certificates and compile relevant case management reports.
  • Educate claimants through home visits and support integration into family life.
  • Conduct follow-ups, coordinate service referrals, and track progress.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and advise on vocational reintegration.

Rehabilitation Support Services

  • Oversee post-discharge rehab and medication use.
  • Evaluate caregiver levels and recommend home/car modifications based on medical needs.
  • Ensure proper hospital admissions and caregiver coordination.
  • Manage monthly caregiver timesheets and authorisation processes.

Invoice Oversight and Process Accuracy

RAF Case Management Billing Responsibilities

  • Ensure that invoices align with RAF policies and guidelines.
  • Identify over-servicing or fraudulent submissions.
  • Maintain accident-related service validation.
  • Ensure timely payment in accordance with SLAs.

Reporting and Data Integrity

  • Regularly compile patient care and rehabilitation reports.
  • Evaluate service provider contributions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness

Strengthen Community Trust in RAF field Case Management

  • Maintain effective relations with health professionals.
  • Represent RAF at community events to raise awareness.
  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nursing/Allied Health or related field.
  • Registered with the relevant Health Professions Council.
  • 4 years’ experience in the medical or managed healthcare environment.
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license.

Core Competencies and Technical Skills

Behavioural:
Planning, Judgement, Ethics, Client Focus, Coordination

Technical:
Knowledge of ICD/CPT coding, case management processes, healthcare operations, RAF billing standards, and PFMA.
