Role Overview for the Unisa Over the Counter Assistant X30 2024

The University of South Africa (UNISA) is seeking an Over the Counter Assistant for a fixed-term contract to support its Counter Warehouse operations. The role involves assisting students with the picking, packing, and shipping of study materials, ensuring efficient and accurate distribution.

Key Responsibilities Unisa Over the Counter Assistant

  • Picking, packing, and shipping pre-packed study materials for students choosing Counter as their delivery option.
  • Ensuring uncollected study materials are removed after three days unless special arrangements have been made.
  • Accurately recording the collection of study materials to track student parcels.
  • Assisting with other Warehouse operations, such as picking, packing, and shipping individual items into parcels, as needed.
  • Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements for Unisa Over the Counter Assistant X30 2024

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12. Applicants must currently be registered as Unisa students.
  • Additional Recommendation: Completion of at least ten (10) modules. Applicants should attach an academic record and proof of current registration.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy and concentration.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Remuneration:

Salary will be commensurate with the seniority of the position.
