Job Requirements
General Criteria
- Must be a South African citizen aged 18 to under 30
- No prior criminal record
- Able to communicate in English and at least one other official language
- Meet health and fitness benchmarks, including psychological and integrity assessments
- Willing to relocate and train anywhere in South Africa
Academic Requirements
Stream 1
- Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate / National Certificate (Vocational)
Stream 2
- A three-year National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or higher) in:
- Policing
- Law
- Criminology
- Forensic Investigation
- Law Enforcement
Benefits and Compensation
During the SAPS Training Program Vacancies
- Monthly stipend: R4,500

About the Program
Selected applicants will be enrolled in the training program, a 21-month process divided into three distinct phases:
- Induction Phase – One month at a local police station
- Basic Training Phase – Eight months at a SAPS Academy (with practical exposure)
- Probation Phase – Twelve months of on-the-job service under mentorship
All training is fully funded by SAPS, including housing and meals, and is designed to prepare candidates for full operational deployment.
