Requirements:

Registration with the SA Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker. Computer literacy is a must. The successful candidate should possess the following competencies and attributes:

  • Report writing, problem-solving, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Integrity and honesty.
  • Friendly and adaptable with a high level of self-discipline.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain punctuality, and be willing to travel.

Duties:

  • Stay informed on the Victim Offender Dialogue Programme’s objectives and targets as outlined in the Strategic and Operational Plans.
  • Locate and orientate victims with the programme’s aims and benefits.
  • Facilitate contact between offenders and victims, assess potential areas of conflict, and refer these areas for further intervention.
  • Provide victim details to Case Management Committees and Parole Boards.
  • Maintain a database of community support structures, such as NGOs and religious organizations.
  • Engage community leaders, NGOs, and families regarding the reintegration of offenders.
  • Submit monthly reports to the Head Office regarding performance on strategic targets.
