Job Description: Security Officer (X43 Positions Available)
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for qualified individuals to join the Security Services team as Security Officers at the SAPS Head Office in Pretoria. The ideal candidates must demonstrate competency in post-specific security functions, possess excellent communication skills, and be ready to ensure the safety and security of the premises, personnel, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities: Security Officer (X43 Positions Available)
- Manage access control, adhering to the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
- Perform positive identification of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain electronic and manual visitor and contractor registers.
- Ensure proper authorization and escort for visitors and contractors.
- Conduct searches of individuals, articles, and vehicles entering the premises.
- Patrol designated areas, securing buildings and equipment.
- Report any security deficiencies or threats to senior security personnel.
Job Requirements:
- South African Citizenship required.
- No prior criminal or departmental convictions (or pending cases).
- Successful completion of security screening and fingerprint verification.
- Must hold a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on NQF level 4.
- Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Possession of a Grade C security certificate (or higher).
- Eligible to possess a firearm and willing to undergo firearm competency training.
- Willing to work shifts and extended hours as needed.
