Quality Automation Engineer Responsibilities
As a Quality Automation Engineer at Standard Bank, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality banking applications. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Identifying quality concerns in projects and applying QA practices throughout the lifecycle
- Enabling testing frameworks that facilitate efficient testing environments through automation
- Creating test scenarios during demos/pilots and planning exploratory testing
- Conducting integration testing to ensure products work end-to-end
- Creating test stubs and drivers with Developers to facilitate test execution
- Evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies
- Engaging in team collaboration sessions and Agile ceremonies
- Developing and maintaining automation frameworks
- Writing test scripts to automate testing processes
- Executing automated tests and reporting comprehensive results
Qualifications for Quality Automation Position
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology
- Grade 12/Matric is the minimum educational requirement
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and quality management systems
- Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement techniques
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills
- Proficiency in using statistical analysis software and quality management tools
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering
- 2-5 years of Automation testing experience (required)
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C#, or Ruby
- Experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, or Pytest
- Strong scripting and debugging abilities
- Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, or other task management tools
- Previous internships or learnerships in software testing will be valuable
