Position Overview For PRASA Jobs in Gauteng

PRASA is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and reliable General Worker to assist with day-to-day operational and maintenance activities. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about contributing to the safety and efficiency of South Africa’s public transport system. No prior experience is required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the maintenance and cleaning of railway infrastructure, stations, and trains.
• Supporting skilled technicians and artisans in repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Carrying out general labor duties such as loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Performing cleaning tasks on platforms, trains, and around station areas.
• Ensuring safety standards are adhered to, including the proper use of protective gear.
• Reporting any safety hazards, equipment defects, or incidents to supervisors.
• Helping with the preparation and organization of materials for scheduled maintenance work.
• Assisting with emergency response actions when necessary.

Requirements For PRASA Jobs in Gauteng

• Grade 10 or equivalent (matric not required but beneficial).
• Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in different weather conditions.
