About the Hitachi Kenkijin Bursary 2026
Hitachi Construction Machinery Southern Africa Co (Pty) Ltd invites qualified and ambitious South African students to apply for the Hitachi Kenkijin Bursary Trust for the 2026 academic year.
The bursary aims to support talented students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies in key business and engineering fields. It reflects Hitachi’s ongoing commitment to developing future leaders who display both academic excellence and financial need.
Successful candidates will be required to sign a one-year commitment agreement upon acceptance of the bursary.
Fields of Study Covered
The Hitachi Kenkijin Bursary 2026 will provide funding for studies in the following disciplines:
- Accounting (CA/SA)
- Human Resources
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Procurement (CIPS)
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to qualify:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 16 and 35 years old
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must be studying or intend to study in one of the listed fields
- Must be registered or planning to register at a recognised South African higher education institution
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 75% if currently studying
- Must demonstrate proven financial need

- Proof of admission or registration at a tertiary institution
- Certified copy of latest academic transcript or tertiary record
