Your Role and Responsibilities as DFFE Administration Clerk

As an Administration Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in managing travel-related financial processes. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Administering fruitless and wasteful expenditure, no-shows, and late cancellations.
  • Obtaining weekly lists of no-shows from our travel agent.
  • Advising officials on correct actions to prevent future issues.
  • Compiling and distributing no-show lists to relevant DDGs.
  • Verifying travel accommodation payments.
  • Receiving payment stubs, adding disbursement numbers and action dates.
  • Compiling weekly and monthly no-show/late cancellation reports.
  • Forwarding invoice copies to supervisors.
  • Reconciling reports from Finance and the Determination Committee.
  • Reconciling BAS payment advice with supplier statements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who are meticulous and eager to learn.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 is essential.
  • No prior experience is required; we’ll train the right candidates!
  • A post-matric qualification (NQF5) is an added advantage.

Desired Knowledge:

  • Administrative/clerical procedures.
  • BAS and LOGIS systems.
  • Financial and procurement procedures.
  • Procurement policies and departmental prescripts.
