About the Initiative

The Basic Education Employment Initiative forms part of the Presidential Youth Employment intervention. It places young South Africans in public schools to assist with administrative tasks, classroom support, reading programmes, ICT, safety, and maintenance.

The initiative also helps participants gain workplace readiness skills, references, and training to improve long-term employability.
