Blockman – SPAR Worcester

Introduction

SPAR is currently recruiting for a Blockman to join our butchery team in Worcester, Cape Town North. This role is responsible for cutting, deboning, and preparing meat products according to quality and hygiene standards set by the Butchery Manager.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Education and Certifications

  • Grade 10 school-leaving certificate (NQF Level 3) – required
  • Grade 2 Meat Cutting Certificate – required
  • Recognized Butchery Apprenticeship or Learnership – preferred

Experience and Skills

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Halaal Butchery
  • Supermarket butchery experienceadvantageous
  • Cutting skills of all meat species
  • Deboning and meat processing expertise
  • Stock control and pricing management
  • Good customer service and communication skills
