The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites former members to apply for re-enlistment under Project 2024/2025. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified individuals who previously held the ranks of Constable, Sergeant, or Warrant Officer. Successful applicants will be reappointed at the rank they previously held, specifically within these three designations.
Positions Available: Constable, Sergeant, Warrant Officer
Location: Nationwide
Starting Salary:
- Constable: R226,188 per annum
- Sergeant: R283,797 per annum
- Warrant Officer: R351,570 per annum
Eligibility Criteria for Former Members
To be considered for re-enlistment, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Formerly appointed under the Police Service Act, 1995, in the rank of Constable, Sergeant, or Warrant Officer.
- Successful completion of basic police and functional training.
- A solid disciplinary and attendance record during previous SAPS service.
- A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or higher qualification.
- Possession of a valid Code B (light motor vehicle) driver’s license.
- South African citizenship (documentary proof required).
- Proficiency in at least two official languages, with one being English.
- Willingness to undergo a medical examination and psychological assessment as determined by the National Commissioner.
- No visible tattoo marks incompatible with the SAPS image.
- A clean criminal record (no convictions or pending criminal or disciplinary cases).
- No previous declaration of unfitness to possess a firearm.
- Flexibility to be deployed according to SAPS needs, which may include relocation at the applicant’s own expense.
- Willingness to undergo refresher training or any additional training as required.

Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be no older than 55 years on the closing date of the advertisement.
- Applications from individuals who left SAPS due to retirement, dishonorable discharge, pending disciplinary actions, severance, or medical boarding will not be considered.
