SANRAL is seeking an experienced General Manager for Risk Management to ensure effective modeling, implementation, and monitoring of risk strategies, frameworks, and processes across the organization. This role is crucial for assessing and updating strategic, financial, legal, and operational risks, ensuring the business continuity plan is articulated and managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities: SANRAL’s Employment
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk management policies, frameworks, and implementation plans.
- Establish and maintain an effective risk appetite and tolerance framework.
- Engage with stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and benchmark new risk management practices.
- Conduct annual risk maturity assessments and develop continuous improvement roadmaps.
- Oversee compliance with relevant legislation and quality of service to stakeholders.
- Represent risk management at EXCO, Board, and relevant committees.
- Manage and monitor risk management processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Implement annual risk control self-assessment workshops and risk management education campaigns.
- Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Oversee the SANRAL insurance portfolio.
Minimum Requirements: SANRAL’s Employment
- NQF Level 8 qualification in Risk Management or Business Management with a major in Risk Management.
- At least 10 years of experience in enterprise-wide risk management.
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
Advantageous:
- Membership of the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA).
- Experience in Corporate Governance, Forensic and Fraud Prevention in the public sector.
- Solid knowledge of ISO 31000 international standard on Risk Management.
Technical Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks, including PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
- Proficiency in ERM concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with departmental policies and procedures related to anti-corruption and governance.
