About the Redefine Properties Sustainability Internships 2025
Redefine Properties Limited invites Employment Equity (EE) candidates with disabilities to apply for its Sustainability Internship Programme 2025. The programme offers hands-on experience in integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into property investments, asset management, and sustainability reporting.
Interns will gain exposure to green building initiatives in collaboration with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA), while learning about ESG data management and reporting frameworks within a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).

Purpose of the Role
The internship aims to provide administrative and research support for Redefine’s ESG strategy through data collection, sustainability reporting, and project coordination.
Key Performance Areas
1. Data Collection & Management
- Collect and consolidate ESG data from internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and validate ESG data accuracy across reporting platforms.
2. Research & Benchmarking
- Conduct research on sustainability trends, regulations, and benchmarks.
- Support Green Building recertification documentation.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities across portfolios.
3. Reporting Support
- Assist with ESG and sustainability reports.
- Contribute to external ESG disclosure submissions.
4. Project Support
- Coordinate ESG projects focused on energy, water, and waste efficiency.
- Provide administrative support and monitor project timelines.
5. General Administration
- Manage ESG documentation and meeting logistics.
- Track actions, process payments, and liaise with finance.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Support ESG awareness campaigns.
- Liaise with teams on sustainability updates and progress.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental studies or the built environment.
- Professional accreditation (advantageous).
- Previous ESG experience (advantageous).
Skills and Knowledge
Skills:
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Excellent analytical, data management, and research skills.
- Proficient report writing and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of ESG principles in real estate.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as CSRD, ISSB, GRESB, and GRI.
- Interest in sustainability, climate change, and corporate governance.
