About the Necsa Apprenticeship Programme
The Necsa Apprenticeship Programme provides comprehensive three-year training contracts under section 18.2, combining formal classroom instruction with hands-on workplace experience.
Available Trades in the Necsa Apprenticeship Programme (2025-2027)
OC: Metal Machinist (Turner)
As a Metal Machinist apprentice in our Necsa Apprenticeship Programme, you’ll master the operation of precision equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and advanced CNC machinery to create precision metal components essential for various industries.
OC: Toolmaker
Toolmaker apprentices in the Necsa Apprenticeship Programme will develop specialized skills in creating precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes, working with various metals and specialized alloys.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Necsa Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must have one of the following:
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science
- N2-6 with 4 subjects including relevant trade theory
- Technical Matric with Mathematics, Science and relevant trade theory
- NCV Level 3/4 Engineering Certificate with 7 subjects including relevant trade theory
Additional Requirements
- Age between 18-35 years
- South African citizenship
- Technical knowledge and teamwork abilities
- No previous participation in apprenticeship programs
- Must pass medical fitness assessment, security clearance, qualification verification, and technical assessments
