Role Purpose
The Manager: Training Material Development will lead the creation and quality assurance of training materials aligned with national qualification frameworks. The role ensures compliance with SAQA, QCTO, and SETA standards, while overseeing curriculum design and engaging with key academic and regulatory stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-quality training materials, both internally and externally sourced.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on training material policies and moderation frameworks.
- Implement and enforce standards, processes, and procedures for curriculum development.
- Ensure alignment with national regulatory bodies such as SAQA, QCTO, and SETAs.
- Build partnerships with tertiary institutions and stakeholders to advance material development methodologies.
- Oversee implementation of curricula in line with identified needs and NQF standards.
- Manage departmental performance and ensure effective communication within the team and with service providers.
- Provide guidance during emergencies and ensure staff readiness.
- Maintain professional relationships to meet service level expectations.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4) – Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, HR Management, or Training and Development – Essential
- Honours Degree – Advantageous
- 6–8 years’ experience in curriculum or training material development
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role

- Material Development: Skilled in creating learner and facilitator guides, assessments, and workplace learning tools
- Assessment Design: Experienced in formative and summative assessments, ensuring they meet moderation and verification criteria
- Policy Compliance: Ensures alignment with accreditation and QA standards
- Project Leadership: Capable of leading multiple curriculum projects within deadlines and budgets
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Tracks effectiveness of training and learner outcomes
