Job Responsibilities

Legal Officer: Professional Affairs – Gauteng (Ref No: GP06/2025)

  • Quality assurance of legal practitioner applications
  • Participation in professional affairs committees
  • Monitoring of compliance in firm registration and court orders
  • Examination oversight and application review
  • Correspondence with foreign jurisdictions
  • Staff supervision

Legal Officer: Risk & Compliance – Gauteng (Ref No: GP08/2025)

  • Investigate compliance issues using forensic methods
  • Present findings in disciplinary hearings and courts
  • Winding up of practices for suspended, struck, or deceased attorneys
  • Administer trust accounts and manage audit reports
  • Risk analysis and stakeholder liaison

Finance Officer – Gauteng (Ref No: GP07/2025)

  • Daily and monthly financial reconciliation
  • Invoice and payment allocation
  • Support with audit preparation
  • Member and disciplinary fine queries

Administrator: Risk & Compliance – Mpumalanga (Ref No: MP01/2025)

  • Capture and verify audit reports
  • Submit claims to the LPFF
  • Correspond with panel attorneys and monitor legal file movement
  • Assist with enquiries and maintain accurate records

Legal Practice Job Requirements : Council vacancies

Legal Officer Roles

  • LLB Degree and Admission as a Legal Practitioner
  • Minimum 2 years post-admission experience
  • Familiarity with the Legal Practice Act No. 28 of 2014 and Section 109 Regulations
  • Knowledge of the LPC Code of Conduct and related legal frameworks
  • Good standing with the LPC

Finance Officer

  • BCom/BTech in Accounting or related (NQF 7)
  • 2 years financial administration experience
  • Experience with SAGE AP/AR and accounting systems
  • Knowledge of LPC rules and financial policies

Administrator: Risk & Compliance

  • National Diploma in Paralegal Studies or Administration (NQF 6)
  • 2 years of administrative experience
  • Understanding of the Legal Aid environment and legal compliance processes
