CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Santam has a position available in Belville (Cape Town) in our BITS (Business Information Technology Services) unit for an Intermediate Automation Tester reporting to the Test Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for testing applications using the Selenium automated testing tool. The key responsibility for this role will focus on quality assurance (QA) to verify the functionality on the Oracle’s JD Edwards platform. Also responsible for linking test cases to business/systems requirements to ensure traceability. This role will also execute regression test cases, log defects and the creation of test ware.
DUTIES
- Analyses and develops the proper automation test coverage with the assigned development team.
- Responsible for Selenium Creating Test Cases,
- Java or Other supported Programming for Enhancing Test Cases
- Any Supported Testing Framework for Grouping Test Cases, Prioritizing Test Cases, Executing Test Batches, and Generating Test Results.
- Selenium Grid for Parallel Test execution.
- Bamboo for Continuous Integration,
- Identify and create necessary test data
- Checking test results and logging defects.
- Analyses test failures
- Analyses metrics for quality assessment & management with Test Manager
- May work with Business Analyst to influence and monitor User Acceptance Testing.
- Tracking and monitoring of errors and test results with project team
- Responsibilities may require after hours and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years manual testing experience
- Minimum of 4 – 5 years automation testing experience
- Testing certification (ISTQB – Foundation certificate) advantageous
- Experience in software testing methodologies (agile, waterfall, functional and non-functional), test planning, test case development and execution of test cases
- Experience in developing test cases and test scenarios from use cases and/or requirements specifications.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Possesses good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance concepts across the SDLC and the TDLC
- Understands test metrics and how they are used for decision support
- Has experience with Requirements Management, Test Management and Defect Management Tools
