Requirements: Home Affairs Mobile Officer Positions x100

  • Undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Operations, Human Resources, or Business Management at an NQF Level 6 recognized by SAQA
  • One year of clerical experience preferred
  • Experience in a client and customer service environment advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 10) and Public Driver Permit (PDP)
  • Basic knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Departmental Legislation, and Prescripts (Civic Services)
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resource Regulatory Framework and Civic Services Operations
  • Basic knowledge of Civic Services Prescripts
  • Required skills and competencies: Communication, interpersonal skills, Time management, Problem-solving, Planning and organizing, Supervisory skills, Report writing, Computer literacy

Duties:

  • Supervise and administer daily Civic Services functions within Mobile Offices
  • Manage Identity Document, Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD), and Passport application processes
  • Supervise operations in different service points and manage client queues
  • Ensure proper maintenance and examination of the Mobile Office
  • Perform daily trips and vehicle inspections
  • Implement risk and compliance measures
  • Facilitate client services and operate specialized equipment
  • Drive the mobile unit to service points and set up as required
  • Assist clients, including those with disabilities, to embark and disembark
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervise human and physical resources within the unit
