About the Role:
OR Tambo International Airport is seeking to hire 56 Female Security Officers to enhance its security team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Africa’s busiest airports, where your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and facilities.
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by patrolling, monitoring access points, conducting security checks, and assisting with any incidents that may arise. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to upholding safety standards at one of the country’s key international gateways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrolling assigned areas within the airport premises.
- Monitoring entry and exit points to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
- Conducting security checks on passengers, staff, and luggage as required.
- Responding to security alarms and incidents.
- Preventing unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Collaborating with airport security and law enforcement officials when necessary.
- Assisting in emergency situations such as evacuations or medical incidents.
Minimum Requirements Female Security Officers – OR Tambo Airport:
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 10, Grade 12, or ABET qualification.
- PSIRA Certification:
- Must hold a valid PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) certificate.
- Experience:
- Previous security experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
