Job Description
The Control Immigration Officer will be responsible for law enforcement and monitoring in the Inspectorate division. Duties include investigating illegal migration cases, enforcing the Immigration Act, and handling deportations as per South African and international laws.
Ideal Candidate
Candidates should have experience in law enforcement, criminology, or public administration, with a strong commitment to immigration law enforcement. Willingness to work extended hours and travel frequently is essential.
Role Responsibilities
- Detect, trace, and arrest illegal foreigners
- Supervise investigations on human trafficking, smuggling, and document fraud
- Oversee legal deportation processes
- Participate in multi-agency operations against illegal migration
- Testify in court cases and disciplinary hearings
- Inspect businesses, workplaces, and residences for compliance
- Maintain departmental vehicles and tools
- Raise awareness on illegal migration issues
- Prepare reports and monitor illegal immigration statistics
- Attend security forums and interdepartmental meetings
- Train and mentor junior officers
- Collaborate with local and international law enforcement agencies
