DBE Senior Provisioning Clerk Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of travel and accommodation processes
  • Knowledge of:
    • BAS system
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • Treasury Regulations
    • National Travel Policy Framework
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer literacy in:
    • MS Word
    • MS Excel
    • MS PowerPoint
    • MS Outlook
    • BAS system

Additional skills:

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent client service and relations
  • Strong planning, organising, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of general office administration

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform administrative and financial support duties related to travel and provisioning administration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving VA26A travel forms
  • Verifying compliance and issuing order numbers
  • Registering travellers in the approval book
  • Making copies and filing original VA26A documents
  • Scanning documents and saving them on the H-Drive
  • Receiving and stamping invoices weekly
  • Compiling invoices using the General Journal form
  • Capturing invoices on the BAS system
  • Recording journals in the register book for finance queries
  • Correcting and amending queries from the Finance Directorate
  • Handling internal queries from travellers and travel bookers
  • Performing additional duties as delegated
