About the Coega Internships Programme

The 2025 Coega Internships Programme offers young graduates the opportunity to gain workplace experience while bridging the gap between academic study and professional practice. This 24-month programme provides structured mentorship, coaching, and on-the-job training to help participants develop industry-ready skills.

Coega Internships Programme and Opportunities

Coega is offering placements across several business units at its Gqeberha Head Office. Available internships include:

Operations – Gqeberha

• National Diploma in Security Management
• National Diploma in Policing
• National Diploma in Town Planning
• National Diploma in Geographical Information Systems

Business Development – Gqeberha

• National Diploma in Process, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
• National Diploma in Energy Management
• National Diploma in Industrial Engineering

ICT, Research & Strategy – Gqeberha

• National Diploma in Software Development

Note: Applicants with a Diploma (NQF Level 6), Degree (NQF Level 7), or Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

To qualify for the Coega Internship Programme 2025, candidates must:

• Be under 35 years of age.
• Have no prior work experience in their field of study.
• Demonstrate energy, strong ethics, and good habits.
• Be South African citizens.
• People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Gain

Interns will be part of a formalised training plan designed to transfer knowledge and workplace skills. Each intern will receive mentorship and coaching, ensuring real growth and career development.
