SALARY: R1,288,095 per annum

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Suitable qualification enabling registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience as a Medical Officer post-registration with the HPCSA, with at least 5 years of experience in HIV, STIs, VMMC ART Management, TB control, TB/HIV, and DR TB Clinical Management.
- Master’s degree in public health or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
- Knowledge of advanced, complex case management (advantageous).
- Familiarity with government guidelines and protocols for HIV, STIs, VMMC, TB, and DR TB management.
- Experience in training, clinical mentoring, and supervision.
- Proven skills in program management, including institutional capacity building and systems development.
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work at various geographically dispersed sites.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Knowledge of PFMA legislation and Government policy on HIV, STIs, and TB.

- Collaborate with NTP and other partners to develop strategies for enhancing the quality of HIV, STIs, and TB services.
- Strengthen clinical knowledge and experience in managing HIV, STIs, VMMC, and TB.
- Assist the National TB Control Programme in implementing strategies to prevent TB/MDR TB.
- Initiate and provide technical support and training to district-based management teams and service providers for implementing and monitoring TB/MDR TB treatment programs.
- Build the capacity of project staff, Department of Health (DOH) counterparts, and collaborating NGOs in implementing interventions for preventing, diagnosing, and treating HIV, STIs, VMMC, and TB/MDR TB.
- Ensure correct patient management, review clinical decisions, and enhance expertise among healthcare professionals for HIV, STIs, VMMC, and TB/DR TB care.
- Collaborate with the DOH to assist in implementing monitoring and evaluation tools for HIV, STIs, DS, and MDR TB.
- Work with Local Government, NGOs, and Developmental District Partners to implement innovative treatment support and monitoring tools using health technologies.
- Assist in designing/implementing targeted operations research to assess and improve the implementation of HIV, STIs, VMMC, DS, and MDR TB programs.

- Provide regular monitoring and evaluation reports to the District HAST Programme.
- Submit monthly and quarterly status reports to the District HAST Programme, focusing on Clinical and Diagnostic Services.
- Collaborate with DoH, CoJ, and Developmental Partners at Sub-District and District Management teams.
- Enhance health systems to support good clinical practice in Province, District, Hospitals, CHC’s, and PHC Clinics.
- Guide the implementation of DoH HAST treatment protocols.
- Stay updated on developments in the HIV, STIs, VMMC, DS, and DR TB program areas.
- Facilitate and monitor HIV, STIs, VMMC, DS, and DR TB for internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Contribute to operational planning activities.
- Liaise and negotiate with the private sector to improve the health status of communities.
- Perform other duties delegated by the Supervisor/Manager.
- Participate in the training and clinical mentorship of health providers.
- Support the roll out of Operation Phuthuma Nerve Centre approach at District and Sub-District levels.
- Support the dissemination and review of HAST policies.
- Strengthen VMMC, TB/HIV collaboration, and rollout.
