Storekeeper Job Overview
As a Storekeeper, you’ll be responsible for managing stock, maintaining cleanliness and order in storage areas, and ensuring quality control of all received goods. This role involves direct liaison with suppliers and support to various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Place orders and liaise with suppliers (with manager approval)
- Verify pricing and quantities against order sheets and invoices
- Issue groceries and stock to external departments
- Weigh and issue food items for production staff
- Maintain budget-aligned minimum/maximum stock levels
- Participate in weekly and monthly stocktakes
- Keep storeroom, fridge, and freezer areas clean, secure, and organized
- Supervise and delegate tasks to store associates
- Check quality and labeling of incoming goods
- Record HSE documentation accurately and on time
- Support weekend operations when required
- Enforce strict stock control and quality assurance protocols
Minimum Requirements For Empact Group Storekeeper Vacancies
- Matric certificate
- 2 years’ logistics experience (entry-level acceptable)
- Hospitality background is beneficial (training will be provided)
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Work Smart is an advantage
- Supervisory experience preferred
