The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is hiring a qualified Attorney of the High Court to manage complex legal matters and provide litigation and tax services. This is a 3-year fixed-term contract based in Cape Town. The role falls under the Governance Division and offers a total cost-to-company salary of R1,028,791.00.

Key Responsibilities – RAF Attorney, High Court

  • Litigation Services: Represent RAF in all third-party litigation matters in the High Court, including court appearances, mediation, and compliance.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide researched legal opinions and strategic guidance on contracts and internal legal matters.
  • Taxation Support: Manage tax bill of costs and deliver tax services in compliance with South African regulations.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to departmental legal policies and ensure alignment with governance strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage effectively with internal teams, external counsel, and service providers.
  • People Management: Lead, motivate, and evaluate a high-performing legal team while driving employment equity goals.

Required Qualifications & Experience For RAF Attorney

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Postgraduate preferred)
  • Admitted Attorney or Advocate with right of appearance in the High Court
  • Minimum 5–7 years of legal experience, including 2+ years in personal injury litigation
