Purpose of the Role – Transnet General Worker Vacancies
As for these vacancies, working as a General Workers will assist in ensuring that construction and maintenance projects run efficiently at transnet. Duties involve general labor, material handling, and contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following:
- Grade 9 or higher with 6 months relevant experience
- Medically fit (must pass a medical exam)
- Proficient in English communication
- Alert, safety-conscious, and physically able
- Willingness to work extended hours or travel if required
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in noisy environments
- Must be prepared for varying weather conditions and quick deployment
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Team Leader
- Maintain punctuality and professional conduct
- Load/unload and handle materials safely
- Clean work sites: removing weeds, rubble, sweeping floors, etc.
- Operate non-mechanized tools and equipment
- Clean and maintain tools and ladders (up to 12m)
