About the 2026 KPMG Bursary
Applications for the 2026 KPMG Bursary are now open for South African students pursuing accounting qualifications at SAICA-accredited universities. This bursary supports high-performing students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
To be eligible for a KPMG Bursary, applicants must first apply for a training contract with KPMG. The bursary contract is conditional upon entering into a learnership (training contract) that will begin after completing your studies and obtaining a CTA/PGDA qualification.

KPMG Bursary Types
KPMG offers two bursary options for 2026:

|---|---|
| Pure Merit Bursary | Awarded based solely on outstanding academic performance. |
| Merit Bursary with Financial Need | Based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need for additional support beyond tuition fees. |
KPMG reserves the right to determine which bursary type you qualify for and the amount awarded. Renewal of funding in subsequent years depends on your academic progress and the availability of funds.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for a KPMG Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

| Matric | At least 4 distinctions (excluding Life Orientation) |
| First Year | 65% overall average and 70% for Accounting |
| Second Year | 65% overall average and 65% for Accounting |
| Third Year | 60% overall average and 60% for Accounting |
| CTA/PGDA | 50% overall average and 55% for Accounting |
Additional requirements include:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must study full-time towards a SAICA-recognised degree.
- You must complete your degree within the minimum time (no extended study periods).

- Certified copy of South African ID
- Matric certificate
- Full academic record and proof of registration
- Updated fee statement
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Payslips and bank statements for parents or guardians (or affidavits if unemployed or no bank account)
